Tideway Scullers School is a great place for juniors to learn and enjoy sculling, and to develop into competitive athletes. The coaching team is tasked with developing juniors into the top scullers in the UK.
Members are expected to commit to regular training, both on the water and in the gym to develop technique, strength and fitness. Training schedules apply to school term time, though some groups continue to train in the school holidays.
There are a number of groups, arranged by age and experience:
- Beginners (currently age 11 to 16)
- Young Racers (age 12 to 14)
- Junior Men (age 14 to 18)
- Junior Women (age 14 to 18)
- Junior B Squad (age 14 to 18)
The racing groups have a greater commitment to training in order to compete successfully at national events, and members of these groups must show the dedication to progress towards this level.
To apply to join the TSS junior section, please ask a parent or guardian to e-mail email@example.com to request an application form. There is, however, a waiting list as the section is very popular and therefore oversubscribed, but we hope the wait will not be too long.
You must be able to swim in order to join.
