The TSS Women's Squad is always keen to hear from women (aged 18+) who wish to further their competitive rowing careers. If you are interested in joining us for the 2016-17 season, e-mail Women's Coach Kieran Clark (email@example.com) or click here to fill in the contact form.
In 2015-16, the squad fielded successful athletes at all levels of competition. There have been pennants in the Pairs Head and Fours Head, three crews in the top 50 at the Women's Head and a win at Henley Women's Regatta. Several TSS women were also selected to race at the Home International Regatta.
We now intend to build on this foundation, with the aim of having three eights in the top 40 at the Women's Head (and top 10 and top 25 finishes for the first and second eights respectively), and to win at Henley Women's Regatta.
The squad is coached by Kieran Clark. A former lightweight, his rowing career included winning the Wyfold Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta in 2013 and being a finalist in the Prince of Wales the following year, as well as two gold medals at the Home International Regatta in 2013. Kieran has coached Yarm School, Tees Rowing Club, Durham University and the American School in London, and most recently at the University of London and Tyrian Club. Among his coaching achievements with UL and Tyrian are: the IM2 pennant and fourteenth overall for the UL second eight at the Head of the River; winners of the Intermediate (Academic) coxed four at Women's Henley; and semi-finalists for Tyrian in the Wyfold. In addition, he coached the Irish women's coxless four at the World University Rowing Championships 2014, and the Wales Senior Women's Team at the Home International Regatta in 2015 and 2016.
